लङ्काद्वारव्यूहवर्णनम् / Disposition at the Gates of Lanka
दैत्यदावनसङ्घानामृषीणांचमहात्मनाम् ।।।।विप्रकारप्रियःक्षुद्रोवरदानबलान्वितः ।परिक्रमतियःसर्वान्लोकान्सन्तापयन्प्रजाः ।।।।तस्याहंराक्षसेन्द्रस्यस्वयमेववधेधृतः ।उत्तरंनगरद्वारमहंसौमित्रिणासह ।।।।निपीड्याभिप्रवेक्ष्यामिसबलोयत्ररावणः ।
daityadānavasaṅghānām ṛṣīṇāṃ ca mahātmanām | viprakārapriyaḥ kṣudro varadānabalānvitaḥ ||
parikramati yaḥ sarvān lokān santāpayan prajāḥ | tasyāhaṃ rākṣasendrasya svayam eva vadhe dhṛtaḥ ||
uttaraṃ nagaradvāram ahaṃ saumitriṇā saha | nipīḍyābhipravekṣyāmi sabalo yatra rāvaṇaḥ || 6.37.29-31 ||
Jener Herr der Rākṣasas – niederträchtig und darauf aus, andere zu verletzen, gestärkt durch die Kraft göttlicher Gaben – bedrängt die Völker aller Welten, sogar die Scharen der Daityas, Dānavas und großen Weisen. Ich selbst bin entschlossen, seinen Tod herbeizuführen. Ich werde mit Saumitri (Lakṣmaṇa) und unseren Streitkräften das nördliche Stadttor bedrängen und den Eintritt erzwingen, wo Rāvaṇa ist.

Rāma’s satya-saṅkalpa (truthful resolve) and kṣātra-dharma (kingly duty): taking personal responsibility for decisive action against adharma.
