सागरप्रशमनम् / The Pacification of the Ocean and the Building of Nala’s Bridge
ताळानदाडिमगुल्मांश्चनारिकेळन्विभीतकान् ।वकुलान्कदिरान्निम्बान्समाजह्रुस्समन्ततः ।।।।
tāḷān dāḍima-gulmāṃś ca nārikelān vibhītakān |
vakulān kadirān nimbān samājahrus samantataḥ ||
Von allen Seiten trugen sie Tāla-Palmen, Granatapfelgebüsch, Kokospalmen, Vibhītaka-, Bakula-, Kadira- und Nimba-Bäume zusammen.
They brought palmira, dadima, coconut, karira, bakula and nimba trees and dropped all of them into the ocean.
Dharma is loka-saṅgraha (holding society together): coordinated gathering from all sides symbolizes shared responsibility for a just collective aim.
The construction effort expands as more materials are collected in bulk from every direction.
