Darauf schleuderte Rāvaṇa, der „Rufer der Welten“, dessen Hände ganz im Kampf verstrickt waren, eine Girlande eiserner Geschosse auf Rāmas Stirn.
Then Ravana, who made the people cry, whose hands were engaged in the fight, discharged a row of steel arrows into Rama's forehead.
The verse implicitly contrasts dharma and adharma: Rāvaṇa’s epithet ‘loka-rāvaṇa’ signals the suffering caused by unrighteous power, which dharma must confront.
Rāvaṇa strikes first in this exchange by sending a concentrated volley of iron arrows at Rāma’s forehead.
For Rāvaṇa, fierce martial aggression; for the narrative, the impending test of Rāma’s composure under injury.
