ततस्समेतावतितीक्ष्णवेगौ महाबलौ तौ रणनिर्विशङ्कौ।कपिश्च रक्षोधिपतेस्तनूजः सुरासुरेन्द्राविव बद्धवैरौ।।।।
tatas sametāv atitīkṣṇavegau mahābalau tau raṇanirviśaṅkau | kapiś ca rakṣodhipates tanūjaḥ surāsurendrāv iva baddhavairau ||
Da trafen die beiden aufeinander—Hanumān und der Sohn des Herrn der Rākṣasas—von schneidender Schnelligkeit, gewaltiger Kraft und ohne Furcht im Kampf; wie die Anführer der Devas und Asuras, durch gegenseitige Feindschaft gebunden.
Then the son of the demon king and Hanuman, both very fast in speed, mighty and powerful, fearless in war and like sura and asura closed in upon each other.
Dharma often appears in the epic as a clash of aligned purposes: strength meets strength, but the moral weight depends on whether one fights to protect justice or to uphold wrongdoing.
