The Token of Recognition (Chūḍāmaṇi) and the Crow Episode Recalled
स रामाय नमस्कृत्य राज्ञे दशरथाय च।विसृष्टस्तेन वीरेण प्रतिपेदे स्वमालयम्।।5.38.38।।
sa rāmāya namaskṛtya rājñe daśarathāya ca |
visṛṣṭas tena vīreṇa pratipede svam ālayam || 5.38.38 ||
Nachdem er Rāma und König Daśaratha ehrerbietig gegrüßt hatte und von jenem Helden freigelassen worden war, kehrte die Krähe in ihre eigene Wohnstatt zurück.
'Then that crow said, 'let my right eye be blinded'. you then hit the right eye of the crow'. Thus the crow offered his right eye and saved himself.
