वर्णनम् / Sītā’s Distress and Rāvaṇa’s Attempt at Coercive Allurement
समीपं राजसिंहस्य रामस्य विदितात्मनः।सङ्कल्पहयसंयुक्सैर्यान्तीमिव मनोरथैः।।।।
samīpaṃ rājasiṃhasya rāmasya viditātmanaḥ |
saṅkalpahayasaṃyuktair yāntīm iva manorathaiḥ ||
Auf dem Wagen ihres Geistes—angespannt an die Rosse ihres Entschlusses—schien sie zu Rāma zu fahren, dem Löwen unter den Königen, dem Selbst-Erkennenden.
Large-eyed, fair-complexioned Sita seated there with her belly, thighs and breasts covered with arms cried.
Right conduct is sustained by saṅkalpa (moral resolve): even when physically restrained, the mind can remain aligned to truth and righteousness.
Sītā’s inner orientation is described: mentally she is always moving toward Rāma, despite captivity in Laṅkā.
Acalā-bhakti (unwavering devotion) and dṛḍha-saṅkalpa (firm resolve).
