अञ्जलिं प्राङ्मुखः कुर्वन् पवनायात्मयोनये।ततो हि ववृधे गन्तुं दक्षिणो दक्षिणां दिशम्।।।।

Transliteration

añjaliṃ prāṅmukhaḥ kṛtvā pavanāyātmayonaye |

tato hi vavṛdhe gantuṃ dakṣiṇo dakṣiṇāṃ diśam ||

Translation

Nach Osten gewandt, legte er die Hände im Añjali zusammen und erwies Pavana, dem Windgott—seinem eigenen Vater—Ehrerbietung; dann, im Geist gesammelt, wuchs er an Größe, um in die südliche Richtung aufzubrechen.
