Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
तं दृष्ट्वा वदनान्मुक्तं चन्द्रं राहुमुखादिव।अब्रवीत्सुरसा देवी स्वेन रूपेण वानरम्।।।।
taṃ dṛṣṭvā vadanān muktaṃ candraṃ rāhumukhād iva | abravīt surasā devī svena rūpeṇa vānaram ||
Als sie ihn aus ihrem Rachen entlassen sah, gleich dem Mond, der den Kiefern Rāhus entkommt, nahm die Göttin Surasā ihre wahre Gestalt an und sprach zum Vānara.
Seeing Hanuman released out of her mouth like the Moon released from the mouth of Rahu, Surasa assumed her true form and said:
Dharma culminates in recognition and blessing: when one meets a righteous test with truth and skill, the divine obstacle transforms into divine approval.
After Hanumān successfully fulfills the condition, Surasā reveals her true divine form, signaling the test’s completion and preparing to speak.
Merit proven through conduct: Hanumān’s success is validated not by boasting but by the tester’s acknowledgment.
