मैत्रीप्रतिज्ञा-वैरकारणप्रश्नः
Friendship Vow and Inquiry into the Cause of Enmity
तत्तथेत्यब्रवीद्रामस्सुग्रीवं प्रियवादिनम्।लक्ष्मणस्याग्रतो लक्ष्म्या वासवस्येव धीमतः।।
tat tathety abravīd rāmas sugrīvaṃ priyavādinam | lakṣmaṇasyāgrato lakṣmyā vāsavasyeva dhīmataḥ ||
Da sprach Rāma zu dem wohlredenden Sugrīva: „So sei es; genau so ist es“, vor dem weisen Lakṣmaṇa, strahlend wie Vāsava (Indra).
As wise Lakshmana, brilliant like Indra stood witness, Rama said, 'it is true as you say' to Sugriva who spoke pleasing words.
Satya confirmed publicly: Rāma’s assent in a witnessed setting reinforces truthful commitment and dharmic reliability.
Rāma acknowledges and affirms Sugrīva’s pleasing words in Lakṣmaṇa’s presence, solidifying their agreement.
Integrity and clarity—Rāma’s direct confirmation models dharmic leadership and dependable speech.
