Sampati’s Intelligence Report on Sita’s Abduction
अहं तात यथाकालमामिषार्थी खमाप्लुतः।महेन्द्रस्य गिरेर्द्वारमावृत्य सुसमास्थितः।।।।
ahaṃ tāta yathākālam āmiṣārthī kham āplutaḥ | mahendrasya girer dvāram āvṛtya su-samāsthitaḥ || 4.59.12 ||
„Vater, zur rechten Zeit stieg ich in den Himmel auf, auf der Suche nach Fleisch, und stellte mich fest hin, den Eingang zum Berge Mahendra versperrend.“
'O dear father! I went to get food at the right time and stood blocking the entrance of mount Mahendra.
Orderliness and right timing (yathākāla): dharmic conduct includes acting with proper timing and deliberate preparation, not impulsiveness.
In the son’s report, he describes taking position at Mount Mahendra’s ‘gateway’ to catch prey along a known route.
