Lakshmana’s Anger Reported; Hanuman Advises Propitiation and Timely Mobilization
न मे दुर्व्याहृतं किञ्चिन्नापि मे दुरनुष्ठितम्।लक्ष्मणो राघवभ्राता क्रुद्धः किमिति चिन्तये।।
na me durvyāhṛtaṃ kiñcin nāpi me duranuṣṭhitam | lakṣmaṇo rāghava-bhrātā kruddhaḥ kim iti cintaye ||
«Ich habe kein einziges hartes Wort gesprochen und auch keine unrechtmäßige Tat begangen. Warum also ist Lakṣmaṇa, Rāghavas Bruder, zornig auf mich?»
'He who deserves propitiation, should not be offended, more so by a grateful man, remembering the help received by him earlier.
Dharma here emphasizes self-examination and accountability: before blaming others, one should honestly review one’s speech and actions.
Sugriva learns that Lakṣmaṇa is furious and approaching; he anxiously reflects on what offense he might have caused.
