अयोध्याकाण्डे द्विषष्टितमः सर्गः
Kausalyā consoles Daśaratha; grief, remorse, and nightfall

O Held, eine Frau, die ihr Gatte—obwohl weise und lobenswert—erst besänftigen muss, erlangt wahrhaft kein Heil in beiden Welten.
O heroic one! a woman, who is entreated by her sagacious and praiseworthy husband, loses both the worlds.
It expresses a traditional ideal of household dharma: harmony should not come through humiliating reversals where a virtuous spouse must plead to restore peace; dignity and mutual regard sustain moral order.
Kausalya explains her distress: being forced into a posture where the husband must placate her feels inauspicious and wrong to her.
Dasharatha’s praiseworthiness and wisdom are acknowledged, while Kausalya emphasizes the virtue of propriety and dignity in relationship roles.
