FAQs

It presents a hierarchical identification: Garuḍa as the supreme bird, Aruṇa as a chief among winged beings, and Saudāminī as a famed celestial maiden associated with the sky.

Garuḍa is the divine eagle and famed vehicle of Viṣṇu; Aruṇa is traditionally the charioteer of the Sun (Sūrya) and is also described as a prominent celestial being connected with birds and the dawn-like redness (aruṇa).

The verse reflects the Purāṇic habit of recognizing excellence and archetypal roles in creation—encouraging discernment of qualities (guṇa) and functions (dharma) within the ordered cosmos.
