पूजयित्वा द्विजान्श्रेष्ठो भवेन्नास्त्यत्र संशयः । न विप्रपादोदककर्दमानि न वेदशास्त्रप्रतिघोषितानि

pūjayitvā dvijānśreṣṭho bhavennāstyatra saṃśayaḥ | na viprapādodakakardamāni na vedaśāstrapratighoṣitāni

Durch die Verehrung der Zweimalgeborenen wird man wahrlich der Vornehmste; daran besteht kein Zweifel. Doch wahre Erhabenheit erlangt man nicht bloß durch das schlammige Wasser vom Waschen der Füße eines Brāhmaṇa, noch durch bloßes lautes Rezitieren von Veden und Śāstras.
