Secondary Rasa: shanta

Type: forest

FAQs

It highlights bhakti expressed as the longing to behold a revered being’s feet (pāda-darśana) and the request for compassionate granting of darśana.

The verse calls a woman “devamātā” (“divine mother” or “mother of the gods”), but without additional surrounding verses the specific identity cannot be fixed from this line alone.

It models humility and intercession: approaching respectfully, acknowledging another’s sanctity, and appealing to compassion rather than entitlement.
