The Rohiṇī–Candra Śayana Vow

Lunar Bed-Vow with Rohiṇī

FAQs

It points to a named vrata (religious observance) associated with Rohiṇī and the Moon (Candra). The verse itself emphasizes the efficacy of the observance rather than detailing its procedure.

It suggests a spiritually elevated fruit in which ‘return’—commonly understood as repeated worldly rebirth—is rare or difficult, implying a liberation-leaning or highly meritorious outcome.

The verse underscores inclusivity in dharma: when performed properly, the observance yields the same spiritual fruit even for a woman, highlighting sincerity and correct practice over social limitation.
