The Exposition of the Nityā-paṭala
हृद्देशन्यस्तनामार्णां पचेत्तैलाज्ययोर्निशि । तन्मनाश्च दिवारात्रौ विद्याजप्तां तु भक्षयेत् ॥ १४४ ॥
hṛddeśanyastanāmārṇāṃ pacettailājyayorniśi | tanmanāśca divārātrau vidyājaptāṃ tu bhakṣayet || 144 ||
In der Nacht soll man, nachdem man die Silben des Heiligen Namens in die Herzgegend gelegt hat, die Opfergabe in Sesamöl oder in Ghee kochen. Mit dem Geist auf Ihn (Gottheit/Mantra) gerichtet, soll man bei Tag und Nacht sodann das verzehren, was durch das Japa der Vidyā‑Mantra geheiligt wurde.

It teaches a mantra-sādhana method: performing hṛdaya-nyāsa (installing the mantra’s syllables at the heart) and taking food made sacred through japa, so the practitioner internalizes the mantra and steadies devotion and concentration.
By directing the sādhaka to keep the mind fixed on the chosen deity/mantra day and night, it frames ritual action (cooking and eating) as continuous remembrance—turning ordinary acts into bhakti-supported mantra practice.
It reflects mantra-śāstra procedure aligned with ritual discipline: nyāsa (mantric placement), japa-based saṃskāra (sanctification), and prescribed dravya use (ghee/sesame oil) as part of technical vidhi.
