The Account of Hanumān
Narada (contextual voice within the Narada Purana dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It highlights an inner, confidential mode of devotion—seeking sacred communion (saṅgama) with the Divine and safeguarding the ‘rahasya’ (esoteric core of practice) within one’s private, inward sanctuary of bliss.
Bhakti here is expressed as constant longing and intimate association with the chosen divine form (kīśarūpa), emphasizing heartfelt yearning, private contemplation, and the protection of one’s devotional secret from distraction and display.
The verse points to the traditional discipline of mantra-rahasya—keeping certain meditative or mantra practices private—an applied principle often reinforced alongside Vedanga-linked training (especially śikṣā and vyākaraṇa) to preserve correct recitation and focused intent.
