FAQs

It links inner merit to outer discipline: honoring the guru through proper hospitality and sealing the rite through a regulated homa, showing that knowledge (sudhī) must be expressed as correct conduct (vidhi).

Bhakti here takes the form of reverent service—approaching the guru with humility, feeding him, and offering oblations with care—devotion expressed through respectful action rather than mere sentiment.

It emphasizes ritual procedure (kalpa-style vidhi): the sequence of guru-seva, proper nivedya (presentation of offerings), and a quantified homa (sahasra oblations) performed strictly according to prescription.
