सत्त्वं रजस्तमःप्रख्या व्यापारनियमात्मिका । गुणतो धीश्च विषयाध्यवसायस्वरूपिणी ॥ ६६ ॥

sattvaṃ rajastamaḥprakhyā vyāpāraniyamātmikā | guṇato dhīśca viṣayādhyavasāyasvarūpiṇī || 66 ||

Der Intellekt (dhī) gilt als dreifach: sattva, rajas und tamas. Er ist das innere Prinzip, das Tätigkeit und Ordnung lenkt; und gemäß den guṇa nimmt er die Gestalt entschiedener Feststellung hinsichtlich der Sinnesobjekte an.
