The Greatness of the Gaṅgā (Gaṅgā-māhātmya): Saudāsa/Kalmāṣapāda’s Curse and Release

आज्ञत्पो भवतैवेति सकंपोऽस्म व्यजिज्ञपत् । भूश्च चिन्तयामास वशिष्टस्तेन नोदितः ॥ २८ ॥

ājñatpo bhavataiveti sakaṃpo'sma vyajijñapat | bhūśca cintayāmāsa vaśiṣṭastena noditaḥ || 28 ||

„Wahrlich, von dir bin ich befohlen worden“, trug er zitternd und ergeben vor. Da begann die Erdgöttin Bhū nachzusinnen, und auch Vasiṣṭha, durch ihn dazu angeregt, erwog die Sache in stiller Betrachtung.
