गङ्गामाहात्म्य — The Greatness of the Gaṅgā

दारितश्छिन्न एवापि ह्यामोदेनैव चन्दनः । सौरभं कुरुते सर्वं तथैव सुजनो जनः ॥ १२५ ॥

dāritaśchinna evāpi hyāmodenaiva candanaḥ | saurabhaṃ kurute sarvaṃ tathaiva sujano janaḥ || 125 ||

Selbst wenn gespalten und zerschnitten, verströmt Sandelholz aus seiner Natur heraus Duft; ebenso bringt der gute Mensch, auch in Schaden und Mühsal, allen Gutes.
