The Characteristics of Devotion to Hari
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It frames saṃsāra as a strong binding “noose” sustained by moha (delusion) and prescribes Hari-bhakti as the decisive instrument that cuts bondage and yields the highest happiness associated with liberation.
Bhakti is presented not as a mere emotion but as an effective spiritual power—an “axe”—capable of severing entrenched worldly conditioning and redirecting the seeker toward Hari as the liberating refuge.
No specific Vedanga (e.g., Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, Kalpa) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is sādhana-oriented—cultivating steady Hari-bhakti to overcome moha and attachment.
