यज्ञं च तर्पणं चैव कुर्वंतं नाभिवादयेत् । कृतेऽभिवादने यस्तु न कुर्यात्प्रतिवादनम् ॥ ४३ ॥
yajñaṃ ca tarpaṇaṃ caiva kurvaṃtaṃ nābhivādayet | kṛte'bhivādane yastu na kuryātprativādanam || 43 ||
Man soll keinem einen förmlichen Gruß darbringen, der gerade ein Yajña vollzieht oder Tarpaṇa (Trankopfer) darbringt. Und wer nach empfangenem Gruß keinen Gegengruß erwidert, handelt ebenfalls unziemlich.
