Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 8

Dvādaśī-vrata: Month-by-month Viṣṇu Worship and the Year-End Udyāpana

FAQs

It states that Mukunda (Vishnu) grants moksha to sincere worshippers devoted to vrata, arcana, and dhyana, and it upholds bhakti-yoga—especially service to devotees—as a powerful, non-negligible means to liberation.

Bhakti is shown as practical devotion: disciplined observances (vrata), worship (arcana), meditation (dhyana), and the demanding practice of serving devotees. The verse cautions against treating bhakti-yoga as secondary or “for others,” emphasizing it as a serious sadhana.

The verse points to ritual discipline through vrata and arcana (aligned with Kalpa—procedures of worship and observance), while dhyana indicates inner practice supporting the ritual framework.
