Bhāgīratha’s Bringing of the Gaṅgā
jagadrū pamajaṃ nityaṃ sargasthityantakāraṇam | viśvarūpaṃ virūpākṣaṃ praṇato'smyugraretasam || 79 ||
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It frames the deity as the unborn, eternal ground of the cosmos—both immanent as the universe (jagadrūpa) and transcendent as its causal source for creation, sustenance, and dissolution—inviting surrender through praise.
Bhakti is expressed as praṇāma (reverent surrender): recognizing the Lord’s cosmic sovereignty (sarga-sthiti-anta-kāraṇa) and responding with humble obeisance rather than mere intellectual description.
No specific Vedāṅga practice is taught in this verse; its practical takeaway is mantra-style stotra usage—epithets (nāma/guṇa) arranged for devotional recitation and contemplation.
