Wer in gläubiger Haltung aufmerksamen Dienst verrichtet und dabei denkt: „Dies ist Hari (Viṣṇu) lieb“, dessen Hingabe ist überwiegend sāttvika und gilt als mittleren Grades.
Nārada (teaching within the Nārada Purāṇa dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It defines a key marker of authentic devotion: serving with the inner intention of pleasing Hari, supported by śraddhā, which purifies the heart through sāttvika motivation.
Bhakti is shown as intentional seva: not merely action, but action offered with the thought “this pleases Hari,” and strengthened by faith—this is classified as sāttvika bhakti of a madhyama (intermediate) level.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught directly; the practical takeaway is sāttvika discipline in ritual/service—aligning conduct and intention with śraddhā to make worship effective.
