Dharmopadeśa-Śānti: Rules of Impurity, Expiations, and Ancestor Rites

विवाहे चैव संवृत्ते चतुर्थेऽहनिरात्रिषु । एकत्वं सा व्रजेद्भर्तुः पिण्डे गोत्रे च सूतके ॥ ८३ ॥

vivāhe caiva saṃvṛtte caturthe'hanirātriṣu | ekatvaṃ sā vrajedbhartuḥ piṇḍe gotre ca sūtake || 83 ||

Wenn die Eheschließung ordnungsgemäß vollzogen ist, wird sie am vierten Tag und in der vierten Nacht eins mit ihrem Gatten—sie teilt seine piṇḍa‑Zugehörigkeit (Totenopfer‑Linie), seine gotra und auch den Zustand ritueller Unreinheit (sūtaka), wenn er eintritt.
