FAQs

It links dharmic practice to right time (kāla): recognizing the weekday’s ruler and applying a counting rule helps align actions with cosmic order, supporting disciplined observance that aids mokṣa-oriented life.

While technical, it supports bhakti in practice: vows and worship are traditionally performed with attention to proper kāla; correct determination of the day-lord helps a devotee observe vratas and pūjā with steadiness and scriptural care.

Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa: identifying the vāra (weekday) at a given moment, assigning its vāsarādhipa (planetary day-lord), and using a specific counting method involving the ‘sixth’ position for subsequent computations.
