FAQs

It emphasizes self-restraint (brahmacarya/indriya-nigraha) aligned with sacred lunar timings, treating key tithis and parva-days as spiritually charged periods suited for purity, worship, and restraint rather than sensual indulgence.

By prescribing restraint on major tithis like Pūrṇimā, Amāvāsyā, and Dvādaśī, it supports a devotional lifestyle where bodily discipline protects mental clarity, making one more fit for japa, pūjā, vrata observance, and remembrance of Hari.

It reflects calendrical/astronomical tithi-awareness (Jyotiṣa-style lunar day reckoning) used for dharmic conduct—identifying specific tithis (Pratipad, Ṣaṣṭhī, Dvādaśī) and parva-junctions as times for prescribed restraints.
