याम्यायने गर्हितं च कर्म यत्नात्प्रशस्यते । माघादिमासौ द्वौ द्वौ च ऋतवः शिशिरादयः ॥ १२७ ॥
yāmyāyane garhitaṃ ca karma yatnātpraśasyate | māghādimāsau dvau dvau ca ṛtavaḥ śiśirādayaḥ || 127 ||
Im südlichen Sonnenlauf (dakṣiṇāyana) wird selbst eine sonst tadelnswerte Handlung, wenn sie mit Sorgfalt vollzogen wird, als lobenswert gepriesen. Von Māgha an sind die Monate paarweise geordnet; ebenso die Jahreszeiten—beginnend mit Śiśira—jede umfasst zwei Monate.
