खरवेंदुरामविहतं मानं द्रोणादिवारिणः । विस्तारायामवेधानांमंगुल्योन्यनाडिघ्नाः ॥ ५३ ॥

Transliteration

kharaveṃdurāmavihataṃ mānaṃ droṇādivāriṇaḥ | vistārāyāmavedhānāṃmaṃgulyonyanāḍighnāḥ || 53 ||

Translation

Das Normmaß für Flüssigkeiten—beginnend mit dem droṇa—wird durch festes Rechnen bestimmt. Für Maße von Breite, Länge und Durchstoß (Tiefe) beruhen die Einheiten auf dem aṅgula (Fingerbreite) und auf aufeinanderfolgenden Unterteilungen, bis hin zum nāḍī, der gegenseitige Abweichungen ausgleicht.
