अनुबंधेऽपवाहे चैकस्य चेदधिकोनकः । भागास्तलस्थहारेण हरं स्वांशाधिकेन तान् ॥ २३ ॥
anubaṃdhe'pavāhe caikasya cedadhikonakaḥ | bhāgāstalasthahāreṇa haraṃ svāṃśādhikena tān || 23 ||
Bei Addition (anubandha) und Subtraktion (apavāha), wenn ein Term größer oder kleiner ist, berechne man die Teile, indem man den „unten“ stehenden Divisor als harā nimmt; und teile diese Teile durch jenen Divisor, der um seinen eigenen Anteil vermehrt ist.
