वक्रर्त्वोर्गतियोगामं गम्येतीते दिनादिकम् । खनत्यासंस्कृतौव्वेषूदक्साम्येन्येंतरं युतिः ॥ १७२ ॥
vakrartvorgatiyogāmaṃ gamyetīte dinādikam | khanatyāsaṃskṛtauvveṣūdaksāmyenyeṃtaraṃ yutiḥ || 172 ||
Durch die Verbindung der Planetenbewegung mit ihrer rückläufigen Phase soll man die verstrichenen und verbleibenden Zeitmaße wie Tage und dergleichen bestimmen. Bei Berechnungen zu Grabungen und anderen noch unfeineren Vorgängen gewinnt man die Korrektur, indem man gemäß der Gleichheit der Richtungen (der vier Himmelsviertel) den Mittelwert nimmt.
