The Description of the Index (Anukramaṇikā) of the Padma Purāṇa

ब्रह्माण्डोत्पत्तिरुदिता यत्रर्षिभिश्च सौतिना । सभूमिलोकसंस्थानं तीर्थाख्यानं ततः परम् ॥ १४ ॥

brahmāṇḍotpattiruditā yatrarṣibhiśca sautinā | sabhūmilokasaṃsthānaṃ tīrthākhyānaṃ tataḥ param || 14 ||

Darin haben die Weisen zusammen mit Sauti den Ursprung des Brahmāṇḍa, des kosmischen Eies des Universums, dargelegt. Danach folgt der Bericht über die Ordnung von Erde und Welten; und anschließend die Erzählung von den heiligen Tīrthas, den Pilgerstätten.
