The Narration of the Trayodaśī Vow Observed Throughout the Twelve Months
Narada (in instruction/exposition mode within the Anukramanika-style section)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It teaches that even when honoring subsidiary deities (like Aṅganāpati/Kāma), the act should be grounded in bhakti and performed in proper ritual relation to the principal deity being worshiped.
The key instruction is “bhaktyā pūjayet”—devotion is presented as the essential inner qualification that makes worship efficacious, beyond mere external ritual.
It reflects Kalpa (ritual procedure): the verse specifies a practical rule of worship—performing a particular devatā-pūjā “in front of” the main deity as part of correct sequencing and placement.
