Daśamī-vrata: Observances for the Bright Tenth Day Through the Twelve Months
Narada (in dialogue context with the Sanatkumara brothers, presenting sacred calendrical merits)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It links a specific tithi (Jyeṣṭha bright Daśamī) with Gaṅgā’s heavenly descent, establishing her as inherently puṇya-pradā—so remembrance, reverence, and tirtha-contact with her are treated as direct sources of merit.
By presenting Gaṅgā as divinely descended and merit-giving, the verse supports bhakti through śraddhā-filled remembrance (smaraṇa) and worship of sacred manifestations connected to the divine order.
It highlights calendrical discipline through tithi-identification (Daśamī in Śukla pakṣa of Jyeṣṭha), a practical application aligned with Jyotiṣa-style time-reckoning used for vrata and tirtha observances.
