कृत्वा स्वर्णमयान्विप्र गंधाद्यैरुपचारकैः । आत्मा ह्यायुर्मनो दक्षो मदः प्राणस्तथैव च ॥ ५६ ॥
kṛtvā svarṇamayānvipra gaṃdhādyairupacārakaiḥ | ātmā hyāyurmano dakṣo madaḥ prāṇastathaiva ca || 56 ||
O Brāhmaṇa, nachdem du (die heiligen Gestalten) aus Gold gefertigt und sie mit Darbringungen wie Duftstoffen und ähnlichen Verehrungen geehrt hast, erkenne: Das Selbst (Ātman) selbst ist Lebensspanne, Geist, Befähigung, Kraft und ebenso der Lebenshauch (prāṇa).
