Daśamī-vrata: Observances for the Bright Tenth Day Through the Twelve Months
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It frames daily dharma as a complete act of purification and merit: morning bathing, worship of cosmic guardians, honoring learned Brāhmaṇas, and sealing the rite with dakṣiṇā given within one’s means.
Bhakti is expressed here through reverent service—worship (arcana), hospitality (bhojana), and charitable giving (dakṣiṇā)—performed with sincerity and proportionality rather than display.
It reflects Kalpa (ritual procedure): the ordered sequence of snāna, arcana, brāhmaṇa-pūjā/bhojana, and dakṣiṇā as a codified practice of household and ceremonial observance.
