Account of the Aṣṭamī Vow Across the Twelve Months
Narada (teaching within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue framework)
Vrata: none (māhātmya/phala of Kālabhairava-darśana)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches the purifying power of sacred darśana: encountering Kālabhairava is presented as a direct means for pāpa-kṣaya, dissolving accumulated aśubha karma from one’s human life.
By emphasizing darśana, it highlights devotion expressed through approaching the deity with reverence; the devotee’s faithful vision and surrender to Kālabhairava is portrayed as spiritually transformative and cleansing.
It aligns most with Kalpa (ritual praxis) in practice—darśana as a purificatory religious act—rather than technical Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa; the takeaway is the prayāścitta-like role of pilgrimage/temple worship in dharma.
