The Exposition of the Saptamī Vow Observed Across Twelve Months
Saptamī-vrata-prakāśana
Narada
Vrata: Arkapuṭa-vrata
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It presents Surya (Arka) name-japa as a vrata that purifies karma—described here as destroying all sins—while also granting worldly stability such as wealth and progeny.
By emphasizing continuous japa of a divine name, it highlights a bhakti-style practice where remembrance and repetition become the core discipline of the vow.
Ritual discipline (kalpa-oriented vrata practice) is implied: maintaining a regulated observance with sustained mantra/name-recitation (japa) as the primary method.
