The Explanation of the Twelve-Month Caturthī Vrata
Narada (teaching vrata-vidhi in dialogue context with Sanatkumara tradition)
Vrata: Jāti-Candrodaya (contextual continuation)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that devotion is expressed through correctly prescribed offerings: modaka as naivedya is presented as especially pleasing to Gaṇeśa, and the vow is completed by receiving the consecrated food (prasāda) in a disciplined manner.
Bhakti here is practical and ritual-centered: pleasing the deity through a specific, affectionate offering, then honoring the offering as prasāda—showing reverence, restraint, and personal participation in the worship.
It reflects Kalpa-style ritual procedure (vrata-vidhi): the rule of naivedya offering and the concluding act of partaking prasāda in a regulated way, emphasizing correct observance rather than abstract theory.
