The Exposition of the Pratipadā Vrata for the Twelve Months
Narada
Vrata: Vaiśākha-śukla-ādi worship observance (month-based vrata context)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It states that sincere, proper devotion to Viṣṇu—particularly during the auspicious bright fortnight of Vaiśākha—culminates in sāyujya, intimate union with the Lord’s own state, indicating liberation as the fruit of bhakti.
Bhakti here is not merely emotion; it is “samyak-samarcana” (right worship) offered to Viṣṇu. The verse links correct devotional practice and sacred timing (Vaiśākha śukla pakṣa) with the highest result, mokṣa.
It implicitly uses calendrical/astronomical timing—month (Vaiśākha) and lunar fortnight (śukla pakṣa)—reflecting Jyotiṣa-based ritual scheduling central to vrata and pūjā observances.
