Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It presents dharma (a relied-upon teaching or discipline) as a refuge that purifies sin in this very life and yields the merit that leads to heaven, while also indicating that the text systematically teaches social duties such as livelihoods.
Though bhakti is not named explicitly here, the verse uses the key Purāṇic idea of “taking refuge” (āśraya), a common framework for devotion—reliance on a sacred path/teaching that purifies pāpa and elevates one’s destiny.
The verse highlights applied dharma-śāstra style classification—varna-based vṛtti (occupational duties). It is practical social regulation rather than a technical Vedāṅga like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa.
