चिन्तयामास धर्मज्ञा ऋतुप्राप्तौ च भामिनी ऋतुकालश्च सम्प्राप्तो न कश्चिन्मे पतिर्वृतः //

Transliteration

cintayāmāsa dharmajñā ṛtuprāptau ca bhāminī ṛtukālaśca samprāpto na kaścinme patirvṛtaḥ //

Translation

Die leidenschaftliche Frau, die das Dharma kannte, begann beim Eintreffen ihrer fruchtbaren Zeit zu sinnen: „Meine Zeit ist gekommen; die rechte Stunde ist da — und doch habe ich mir keinen Gatten erwählt.“
