Adhyaya 8Harishchandra’s Trial: Truth, the Sale of Family, and Bondage to a Chandala

दण्डप्रहारसम्भ्रान्तमतीव व्याकुलेन्द्रियम् ।

इष्टबन्धुवियोगार्तम् अनयन् निजपत्तनम् ॥

daṇḍaprahārasambhrāntamatīva vyākulendriyam |

iṣṭabandhuviyogārtam anayannija-pattanam ||

Vom Schlag der Strafe im Innern erschüttert, die Sinne aufs Äußerste aufgewühlt und von der Trennung von seinen geliebten Freunden und Verwandten gequält, wurde er zurück in seine eigene Stadt geführt.
