उवास नगरे तस्मिन्‌ पतिधर्मवती सती । न चैनां वेद तत्रान्यस्तत्त्वेन जनमेजय,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--विराटकी रानीने जब इस प्रकार आश्वासन दिया, तब पातिव्रत्य धर्मका पालन करनेवाली सती द्रौपदी उस नगरमें रहने लगी। जनमेजय! वहाँ दूसरा कोई मनुष्य उसका वास्तविक परिचय न पा सका

uvāsa nagare tasmin patidharmavatī satī | na caināṃ veda tatrānyas tattvena janamejaya ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: In jener Stadt lebte sie—Draupadī, eine tugendhafte Frau, standhaft in der Dharma der Treue zu ihren Gatten. O Janamejaya, niemand dort erkannte ihre wahre Identität.
