The verse reinforces dharmic recognition of Draupadī’s rightful status—she is explicitly named as the Pāṇḍavas’ lawful wife and honored as a distinguished woman of the Kuru line, implying that social and ethical order depends on acknowledging such legitimacy and dignity.
Vaiśampāyana, as narrator, identifies and characterizes Draupadī (Kṛṣṇā) in a formal, lineage-based way—linking her to the Pāṇḍavas and the Kurus—preparing the listener to understand her role and standing within the unfolding events of the Virāṭa episode.
