Shloka 6

स्‍्नुषायां दुहितुर्वापि पुत्रे चात्मनि वा पुन: | अत्र शड़कां न पश्यामि तेन शुद्धिर्भविष्यति,पुत्रवधू और पुत्रीमें तथा पुत्र अथवा आत्मामें भेद नहीं है, अतः उसे पुत्रवधूके रूपमें ग्रहण करनेपर मुझे कलंककी शंका नहीं दिखायी देती और इससे हम दोनोंकी पवित्रता भी स्पष्ट हो जायगी

arjuna uvāca | snuṣāyāṃ duhitūr vāpi putre cātmani vā punaḥ | atra śaṅkāṃ na paśyāmi tena śuddhir bhaviṣyati ||

Arjuna sprach: «Ob Schwiegertochter oder Tochter, ob Sohn oder das eigene Selbst: Im Anspruch der Verwandtschaft und der Pflicht gibt es keinen wirklichen Unterschied. Darum sehe ich keinen Anlass, bei der Annahme als Schwiegertochter einen Makel zu vermuten; so wird die Reinheit und Angemessenheit von uns beiden offenbar werden.»
