Kṛpa’s Counsel to Karṇa on Deśa-Kāla and Coordinated Strategy
यदज्ञानादवोच त्वां क्षन्तुमहसि तन््मम । यतस्त्वया कृतं पूर्व चित्र कर्म सुदुष्करम् । अतो भयं व्यतीतं मे प्रीतिक्ष॒ परमा त्वयि,“मैंने अज्ञानवश आपसे जो अनुचित बात कह दी हो, उसे आप क्षमा करेंगे। पूर्वकालमें आपने अत्यन्त दुष्कर और अदभुत कार्य किये हैं, इसलिये आपका संरक्षण पाकर मेरा भय दूर हो गया है और आपके प्रति मेरा प्रेम बहुत बढ़ गया है
yad ajñānād avoca tvāṁ kṣantum arhasi tan mama | yatas tvayā kṛtaṁ pūrvaṁ citra karma suduṣkaram | ato bhayaṁ vyatītaṁ me prītiś ca paramā tvayi ||
„Welche unziemlichen Worte ich aus Unwissenheit zu dir gesprochen habe, das mögest du mir verzeihen. Denn einst hast du wunderbare Taten vollbracht, überaus schwer zu vollbringen; darum ist unter deinem Schutz meine Furcht gewichen, und meine Zuneigung und Ehrfurcht zu dir ist bis zum Höchsten gewachsen.“
